Usage policy
Last updated September 14, 2026
Purpose
This Usage Policy describes what you may and may not do when using the Them AI service (the “Service”) provided by Them Labs, Inc. It exists to keep the Service safe, to protect the data you and others connect, and to make sure the Service is used in a way that respects permissions and human oversight. This policy is part of our Terms of Use.
Respect source permissions and scoping
Every workspace member has the same access to rooms and memory. The Service assigns owners to governed memory and scopes each agent key to what it may retrieve. You must respect those permissions and the scoping of each source. Do not attempt to access, share, or surface memory that you are not authorized to see, and do not use the Service to route content around the access controls of a connected source.
No autonomous or harmful actions
Them AI drafts and surfaces information from approved memory and task material you provide; a human decides what becomes company knowledge. Workflows and hosted teammates run inside Them AI when requested or triggered, including configured workflow schedules. They use the selected workspace model connection or platform default, with platform fallback only when permitted for a configured connection. They can ask memory, draft, post into a room, and stop at configured workflow approval steps, and they cannot sign in to or act in an outside system. Connected agents act in their own tools under those tools' controls. You must keep a human in the loop for any consequential action.
Do not use the Service to take irreversible actions without human approval. Keep a person responsible for reviewing consequential actions taken by agents connected to the Service, in the tool where the agent runs.
Prohibited content and conduct
You may not use the Service to:
- Engage in or promote illegal activity, or violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any person.
- Upload or distribute malware, or use the Service to develop or deliver malicious code.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse any person.
- Collect, expose, or misuse the personal or confidential information of others.
Security and integrity
You must not attempt to disrupt or compromise the Service. This includes scraping the Service, reverse engineering it, probing or bypassing permissions, or interfering with the audit log, rate limits, or other safeguards.
Treat ingested content as untrusted. Do not attempt prompt injection or otherwise use connected content to manipulate the Service, exfiltrate data, or cause an agent to act outside its granted permissions.
Data you connect
Only connect data that you are authorized to connect and process. You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and consents needed for every source you bring into your workspace.
Strip or exclude regulated data that you are not permitted to process through the Service, such as data subject to legal or contractual restrictions you cannot satisfy. If in doubt, do not connect the source.
Fair use and rate limits
The Service is in beta and is offered subject to fair use. We may apply rate limits and usage quotas to keep the Service stable and available for everyone. Do not attempt to circumvent these limits or place an unreasonable load on the Service.
Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations of this policy. We may suspend or terminate access, remove content or memory, or restrict features if we believe you have violated this policy or the Terms of Use, or if necessary to protect the Service or other users.
Reporting abuse
If you become aware of a violation of this policy or of any misuse of the Service, report it to us at hello@usethem.ai. We appreciate reports that help us keep the Service safe.
Changes
We may update this Usage Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
